Abstract:

I will review the theoretical and computational challenges of modelling the entangled polymer melts and solutions. In particular, I will argue that the only feasible way to model realistic macroscopic processes is to create a hierarchy of models on different length-scales and level of mathematical details. Few examples from this hierarchy will be demonstrated. One of the aims of my talk will be to find possible ground for collaboration between our Polymer group and ACET.
